Leonel came to us at 9 months old. He was in the cholera clinic in Bercy. The director asked us if we were taking in any babies. We told him we were at capacity and unable to take any more children. He asked us to come meet the baby girl anyway. We found out it was a boy, and when he was placed in Mama Bonnie’s arms it was all over! We had to take him! He spent a couple more weeks at a friend’s infant rescue mission, then he came to us. Since there was no place for him in the baby room, Bonnie & I (Mike) took him into our room. His English was so good by the time he started school that they started calling him "Ti Blanc" (little American). He’s a teenager now and doing well! His dream is to come to America! (Story shared by Mike Snider, Executive Director and former CHM missionary)
Lord, we pray that Leo will always look to you and continue to dream big. Grant him the desires of his heart.
