Here's a story shared by Mike Snider, our Exec Director and former CHM Missionary:

There was a special needs woman in our church for a long time. She was so kind, and everyone loved her. She had a young daughter that she brought to church that was a terror; but Christine would just smile at her, never offering any discipline, much to the chagrin of the older ladies in the church! After a while, she moved to another city that was not too far away. We heard from her occasionally in the beginning, but then we lost touch. A couple of years passed, and Christine’s sister showed up with the little girl and a baby boy named Chris-nayson. She brought us the sad news that Christine had passed away. The Aunt said that Christine’s dying wish was for Papa Mike to take her children. We filed the proper paperwork and brought them into our home.

Chris-nayson was a delight—such an intelligent child! He learned to talk very early. Ruthfaelle, one of our older girls at the time, took a liking to him, and he began calling her his Aunt. One day, when he was three and starting kindergarten, he wandered away from his class at recess and found Ruthfaelle. He said, “My aunt, can you give me a little money for my pocket so I can buy a lollipop?” Everyone in the school was talking about it!

Chris-nayson's mother, Christine, was faithful to the Lord despite her difficulties. What a legacy she left for her children!
