What if you knew just $5 could make a difference in the life of a student in Haiti? Would you spare $5 to do just that? CHM operates two schools in Haiti. Education in Haiti is not free, which means many children do not get the opportunity to go to school. For those that do, many times their family is using every bit of money to send them. We have a food program at both of our schools, which provides a hot lunch free of charge to those who attend. For many, that is the only meal they will receive that day. As you know, it is extremely hard to learn and retain information when you are always hungry. We want to do everything we can to continue to offer free lunch for all of our students, but that is a costly endeavor.
We are beginning something called "$5 Fridays" where we ask you to give just a $5 donation on Fridays. That doesn't seem like much, but the reality is that $5 would provide 7 meals, a full week of school meals for one child! Can you give up your Friday Starbucks or a fast food meal in order to provide a week of meals for a student in Haiti? These students are facing incredible challenges that no child should have to endure, and they are doing everything they can to show up to school despite the surrounding violence because they know how valuable an education in Haiti is. Help us turn Fridays into a day that feeds futures!
